The sit-down with Martin may have not coaxed information regarding the book's highly anticipated release; at least it bore an explanation concerning the novel's delay. "I was red hot on the book and I put it aside for six months I was pushing so hard that I was writing very well," he said. "I should have just gone on from there, because I was so into it and it was moving so fast then but I didn't because I had to switch gears into the editing phase and then the book tour."

Despite this, there are rumors floating around that Martin is expecting the book to be out on the shelves even before "Game of Thrones" Season 6 arrives on TV.
