Pixar's long awaited 'The Incredibles 2' will hit the movie theaters for another family-oriented superhero film. The final release date for the animated adventure movie may not be confirmed yet, although, it is rumored for a 2017 or 2018 premiere. There have already been speculations as to the film's actual storyline including an older Jack-Jack as the main protagonist or possible antagonist.

There is no need to doubt that 'The Incredibles 2' is in the works since the Walt Disney Company CEO himself, Robert Iger, made the official announcement last March 18, 2014, according to IGN. The announcement was made during a conference call to shareholders and D23 members.

What could viewers be in for? According to Movie Pilot, Violet and Dash may have to take up the responsibility of saving the world because of their parents' decision to retire. However, the youngest member of the family - and also the strongest - may turn to the dark side. Nevertheless, the possibilities of a probable plot seem infinite with director Brad Bird's strong focus on the dynamic family aspect of the film.

He said, "For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that. So [Incredibles 2] is a step further in that direction."

The evil Jack-Jack theory seems to be backed up by supporting rumors. In another report by Cross Map, Jack-Jack's change of heart could be the result of his inability to control his powers. The villain, Syndrome, will return after surviving the blast from the first movie to use Jack-Jack for his wicked plans.

Released more than a decade ago in 2004, 'The Incredibles' raked in $631.4 million in the box office according to Box Office Mojo. With several good and relatable story angles possible for 'The Incredibles 2', it could likely be a mainstream hit once again.
