The web-slinging hero is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Spider-Man Reboot. 'The Amazing Spider-Man' director Marc Webb recently shared his thoughts about the reboot, while actress Marisa Tomei is rumored to be in negotiations to play the role of Aunt May.

Marc Webb who directed 'The Amazing Spider-Man' (2012) and 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' (2014), recently gave his thoughts about the upcoming reboot via MTV during the San Diego Comic Con. Webb shared that his previous Spider-Man films were different and said that they were personal to him.

"Those films were my own films, they were very personal." Webb said. " A lot of people put a lot of effort into them - and Andrew and Emma and I, the producers worked very hard on them... it was a really rewarding experience in many ways." he added.

But even with the upcoming reboot, Webb said that he's excited about the upcoming film and further said that he's positive that the film is in good hands. "I'm really psyched that Spider-Man is going back to the Marvel universe, I'm really excited to see that incarnation,"  Webb shared.

"And Jon Watts is directing it, I knew him from the old music video days and he'd done some really fantastic music videos so it's really exciting," he added.

Although he admitted that he still feels sad about having to give up the franchise he once directed, Webb also said that he's excited to find out how Marvel will present Spider-Man into their cinematic universe. "I think there's a huge capacity for reinvention of the realm of the Spider-Man universe... there's a lot of different way so interpret that character... so I'm curious to see how that evolves." he said.

Meanwhile, new rumors have surfaced about the upcoming Spider-Man Reboot and reports suggest that actress Marisa Tomei is currently in negotiations to play the role of Aunt May.

Although many suggest that Tomei might be a little too young for the role, she also doesn't seem to be that ill-fitting since Spider-Man, himself, will be played by the 19 year old British actor, Tom Holland.

Aside from Holland and Tomei, not much have been revealed about the movie yet but more details are expected to be revealed in the coming months.

The upcoming Spider-Man Reboot will be directed by Jon Watts and is set to be released in July 28, 2017.
