During the E3 2015, Sony announced that PlayStation virtual reality headset Project Morpheus is still coming next year. There were some minor updates announced to Project Morpheus virtual reality headset for the PS4 launching in Q2 2016.

According to Techradar, not much has changed about Sony's last big announcements during GDC 2015 about Project Morpheus, however, a slew of latest games added to the roster was witnessed at the E3 conference. Sony has even showed a very brief presentation for Project Morpheus which lasted for only 2 minutes.

In an interview with GameSpot, Sony's head of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida revealed why Project Morpheus did not obtain much interest during the E3 2015. He also shared the plans for the forthcoming VR device.

"When we spend more than two minutes on anything other than core gamers' games, [people] hate it," he explained.

According to Yoshida, the progress of the Project Morpheus is going very well. In fact, they only presented 20 games playable on E3, and which they had to turn down game submissions to make way for what they were preparing for the device. Rigs, a new 3 vs. 3 battle arena and Wayward Sky are the two new games that Sony has announced at E3 with full Project Morpheus virtual reality support.

PlayStation 4 presents a lot of games that will definitely work well with the device's Virtual Reality technology. Some of the announced titles that will be available for Project Morpheus include Among the Sleep, ARK: Survival Evolved, GNOG, and Project CARS.

Moreover, Sony wants developers to create games that let five players in the same room, one in a Morpheus headset, the other four on the couch, and play in the same virtual world. "The hardware is on schedule. Lots of games are being created. Some we are showing will hit the launch date that we haven't decided as of yet. So it's going really well," Yoshida added.

On an Austrian pre-order site, the Project Morpheus was previously posted. The listing priced the Project Morpheus at 399 euros ($450), claiming that it will be available Q2 2016. The listing was shortly taken down.
