Ridley Scott's Prometheus 2 is currently in the works. 2012's Prometheus' sequel will bring more answers to questions left  unanswered in the previous film. New monsters are to appear, and a new setting for the story is expected.

While Scott has not made any official announcement yet, sources say that the working title of Scott's Prometheus 2 is "Prometheus 2: Hell on Earth". As the title suggests, many speculate that the film will be (or at least partially) based on earth.

Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and android David, played by Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender respectively, will be back to reprise their roles, although David might come back just as a head, after he was decapitated in the first movie. Also, reports say that Dr. Shaw's character might die sometime within the movie, which will pave the way for the entry of a new female character.

Regarding the movie's plot, it is said to be divided into three parts. In its final part, Dr. Shaw and David will reportedly search for 'Paradise', the home of the Engineers. Rumors suggest that a revelation about the Engineers' origins will unravel as they will be discovered to be creation of a much superior force.

Meanwhile, Scott himself reportedly confirmed that he will add new elements to the movie. Xenomorphs will not appear in the next installment, but 2 new alien monsters will rise that will bear similarities with xenomorphs, but are altogether different in their own ways. This time, the aliens might reportedly not be the enemies.

An explanation between LV-223 and LV-426 will also soon be established in Prometheus 2. There have been speculations that the two moons are connected as they are said to orbit the planet Calpamos, and were used by the Engineers. LV-2233 was the moon visited by the USCSS Prometheus in the first  movie, while LV-246 was the moon visited by the Nostromo in the movie Alien.

There are no official announcements yet regarding the film's setting, cast, or synopsis. No official release date has been announced for the film either, but Prometheus 2 is rumored to hit theaters in 2016.
