"The Following" Season 4 might actually be happening after all despite FOX cancelling the show as fans have been wanting a renewal of the series. Reports have surfaced  that the producers of the show might just bank on the fans' loyalty to the show as they will be taking the show in a new direction.

The producers of "The Following" said in a statement that the final moments of Ryan Hardy, played by Kevin Bacon during Season 3's finale episode showed that the character might have been left for dead. However, many questions were left unanswered if Hardy will be able to survive it as an unborn child with his girlfriend Gwen, played by Zuleikha Robinson, was on the way, The Inquisitr reported.

Producers of the show noted that they already had everything mapped out for "The Following" Season 4 before they received the notice from FOX.  Many plot twists remain unknown such as fans wanting to know about who Eliza actually worked for.

This will no longer be answered since the show has already ended but fans should not be very certain and disappointed about that as rumors have swirled that the show could be revived via other streaming networks. Youth Health reported that the Season 4 of the show might just have the same faith as "the Mindy Project" that was adapted by online company Hulu.

Design & Trends reports that a statement has been released by a source close to the producers of "The Following" and said, "'The Following' season 4 is being shopped to other distributors by Warner Bros." It remains unknown which network or online streaming network will be adapting the show for the revival of the fourth season. Hulu, however, did not accept the offer of "The Following" producers to adapt it as well but Netflix might just take up on the offer.

Are you hoping that "The Following" will get another shot and have the fourth season still air? Let us know about your thoughts regarding this.
