Deloitte is now in deep discussion to purchase Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. This was confirmed by German paper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung without naming its source.

The newspaper added that the German firm has already notified its 250 partners as to the planned sale. It also added that there were other accounting firms interested in submitting bids for the firm.

Deloitte is currently one of the largest accounting firms in the world and the inclusion of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants would only serve to expand the portfolio of services for its clientele. The two firms have been in discussion since 2010.

Both Roland Berger and Deloitte were unavailable to provide comments on the matter. What was shared though by the spokeswoman for Deloitte, "This sort of speculation is frequent sicne the failure of our proposed tie up in 2010. Nevertheless, our position hasn't changed since then. We're monitoring the market, everyone is talking with everyone else."
