There's another Alien movie coming out There's still no definite release date yet but Neil Blomkamp's Alien 5 is definitely on the go. Pre-production has officially started last March.

According to the Alien 5 website, the upcoming movie will be a sequel to Ridley Scott's Alien and James Cameron's Aliens. The whole premise of Alien 5 will take place after the events in Scott's Prometheus and its upcoming sequel and the timeline will be closer to Aliens and Alien 3.

At the same time Ridley Scott will be directing a sequel for Prometheus. 20th Century Fox will be releasing two Alien brands movies in the coming years. This might result to conflicts with the two upcoming movies.

But Blomkamp has taken care of that. He made sure that they won't have contradicting facts or details. He sat down with Scott regarding his script so that his vision will be inline with his.

He said to Empire magazine, "I sent the title I wanted to Ridley."

With this, Blomkamp had to tweak his original script a bit to coincide with Ridley's sequel of Prometheus.

On the other hand, It has been confimed that Sigourney Weaver will be reprising her role as Ellen Rippley and once again, she will face the dreaded Xenomorph in Alien 5.

Weaver teased in a Chappie interview, "We've found the host and it's been embedded...it's gestated."

Other old casts however are still not part of the new film. Bill Paxton, Sharlto Copley and Michael Biehn are still not officially part of the cast. But let's just hope that in the near future, they will be. I'm sure they're all interested in reprising their roles anyway.

There is still no official release date for the movie but rumors have it that Alien 5 might coincide with the release date of Prometheus 2, although, that should be taken with a grain of salt as the movie is still pre-production.
