Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed already tied the knot in California last April. And at the recent Cannes Film Festival, they had their very first red carpet walk as newlyweds. Though the event was full of famous personalities and guests, mostly eyes were at the couple as they were seen close to each other.

Nikki Reed was spotted wearing a blue long gown by Azzaro with an orange floral at the front, and a baring back. She also flaunted her tattoo, which complimented much her dress. As for Ian Somerhalder, he also wore an Azzaro piece, which was a black tuxedo.

After their wedding in Topanga Canyon in Malibu, they went to Tulum, Mexico for their honeymoon, and then traveled to Brazil, Chile and Costa Rica.

Somerhalder and Reed only had a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship for only about nine months, and then Ian already asked the big question. According to a source, 'Ian is just head over heels for Nikki. He loved her from the start and constantly talks about her. They are truly in love.'

The 'Vampire Diaries' star, now 36, had first dated Nina Dobrev, also from the same show. They were in a relationship for three years, then broke up. After that, Nina quit the show, thinking it would flop without her. Unfortunately, the show did not sink and everything that Nina has planned did not take place.

Meanwhile, Nikki Reed celebrated her 27^th birthday with of course her husband Ian, friends and family. Ian posted a photo of him holding a cupcake for her wife Nikki as she closed her eyes to make a wish. Ian's caption was "Happy Birthday my love. Me and the world celebrate you and hope all of your dreams come true. I'm in awe of your compassion to create positive change in the world ..."
