Thor: Ragnarok, the third and last installment of the standalone Thor films, is set for release on November 3, 2017.  And Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, said that it will serve a significant part for The Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1 and 2 which will be released on 2018 and 2019.

The first two Thor movies, Thor and Thor: The Dark World, has revealed how the god of thunder from Asgard, sent to Earth because of his arrogance, subsequently defended the planet from the villain of his own home planet, and also his love story with Dr. Jane Foster. These two movies had roughly reached the breakeven of their estimated budget by having grossed 181 million dollars and 206 million dollars respectively.

While the third installment is still upon writing with Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost, speculations of what the crossovers and continuations will be have been spreading around, as many films are also on line to appear with the movie, such as Ant-man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War and Inhumans. But the exclusive synopsis of the third Thor film will focus on Thor's fight against Ragnarok, a Norse Apocalypse which will threaten his planet and his life along with other Gods.

"Ragnarök" is translated as the "Fate of the Gods", or the "Twilight of the Gods". The myth tells of the destruction of the universe as the deaths of several key figures in Norse Mythology such as the gods Odin, Thor, Loki, Heimdall, Freyr, Sol and Tyr and the monsters/jotun Fenrir and Jörmungandr. A new generation of gods, the children of Odin, Thor and Sol, will later on replace the old ones as the cycle of the world begins again.

According to the original Marvel comic book, Ragnarok is a robotic clone of Thor, created by Tony Stark, to assist him in the Marvel "Civil War" event against Captain America. The real Thor was on Asgard during the war, and was utterly displeased when he found out he had been copied.

Though while we are aware that the Avengers: Infinity Wars will focus on the battle against Thanos and his infinity Gauntlet, the connections between Thor: Ragnarok and the Infinity Wars are still yet to be seen.
