Following what now became a tradition at Cannes Film Festival, the Weinstein Company presented press footages of their upcoming slate of films last Thursday, but among these projects, an almost two-minute sneak peak of Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" became the crown jewel of the evening.  Along with the teaser release of the film, more photos from the upcoming movie were also released by Entertainment Weekly.

The 90-seconder teaser of "The Hateful Eight" opens with Samuel L, standing over two dead bodies in the middle of the road as he stops an approaching horse carriage which contains a bounty hunter Kurt Russell and his captive Jennifer Jason Leigh.  As a snowstorm occurs, the three hole up in a haberdashery owned by Dana Gourrier  only to find out Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Walton Goggins already in there. Russell becomes suspicious saying "one of these fellas is not who he says he is," which is followed by a montage that suggests gun-firing action along the way.

The film which is set to hit theaters Christmas 2015 was shot by cinematographer Robert Richardson with the use of Ultra Panavision 70mm camera. Some of the beautiful stills from the forthcoming Western film "The Hateful Eight" was even revealed in Entertainment Weekly wherein it featured the cast members and their character profile. First on the list is Kurt Russell's John Ruth, the gun toting "hangman" who is on his way to his way to Red Rock with his captive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), an infamous outlaw who is considered by Ruth as a lethal threat. Samuel L. Jackson's Major Warren Marquis, a union officer who lives in the Wyoming mountains, and Michael Madsen's out-and-out cowboy character Joe Gage were also featured. Aside from them, Tim Roth's Oswaldo Mobray  a well-appointed Brit who declares himself as the new hangman; Walton Goggins' Chris Manix, a southerner who moved west who says he's the Sheriff; Bruce Dern's  Gen.  Sanford Smithers, a former Confederate general; and Demian Bechir's Bob, the Mexican officer in charge of the inn where the lead characters stayed during the snowstorm, were also revealed.

Meanwhile, it was noted that last year, a version of the script leaked online. Quentin Tarantino, who claimed he would not make it, filed a lawsuit against Gawker Media but then withdrew it later on. "The Hateful Eight" is his eighth film in collaboration with Weinstein Co and is referred by the director as the best marriage he ever had.

As for the Weinstein Company, they already confirmed that they will be the one to distribute the upcoming "Hands of Steel" starring Edgar Ramirez and Robert De Niro. The film was also said to premiere April or May next year.
