Khosla Ventures has announced that former mobile payments firm Square executive Keith Rabois will join the company in March.

There have been rumors circling around  what company Rabois would step in after he left Square in January due to legal threats from a colleague with whom he had a relationship for two years.

Founding partner Vinod Khosla released a statement expressing that they are excited to have Rabois joined them as they consider him a great investment and a true adviser as well.

There are still no reports on whether Rabois reached deal to settle with the said colleague who had been threatening to file a lawsuit against him, according to Rabois' blog post.

Rabois had worked for eBay Inc.'s Paypal unit as executive. He completed a degree at Harvard Law School and has long been an angel investor in several firms.

He joined Square as chief operating officer in 2010.
