Now that official news about the lead actor and release date for the movie Aquaman is out in the open, fans have cast their sights on Jason Momoa.

The actor who left an imprint playing the Game of Thrones character Khal Drago will showcase his acting mettle anew. The first official photo was tweeted by Director Zack Snyder a few months ago. The image of the massively built warrior of Game of Thrones, who is merciless and gentle (to none other than  Danerys, played by Emilia Clarke) still remains on the minds of audiences.

Will Jason Momoa give another epic portrayal, this time as King of the Seven Seas? Now that it's time for the DC comics superhero to get full attention in his own solo film (in the same way Ant-man are having theirs), writers have been hard at work to ensure that the big-budget feature film will not disappoint. Aquaman release date is set in 2018.

Now it also cannot be said that DC's been neglecting its other superheroes. Much attention has been given to Batman and Superman, which is slated to hit theaters in 2016. It's interesting to note that Aquaman will be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie. Both the actor (Momoa) and the production team have expressed faith in Snyder's vision of a powerful and relevant character.

It sure looks like there's no stopping anymore Jason Momoa's rise to superstardom. He has proven, time and again, that he can be more than a Hollywood hottie. It's time we see the Game of Thrones actor in an entirely new light.

Given so many gifted actors with ripped bodies landing breakout roles, let's just hope Momoa's star continues to shine. After all, he is slated to appear not just in one or two but several crossover movies.
