GTA 5's renowned developer Rockstar Games has confirmed Red Dead Redemption 2 release is being developed.Consequently, game pundits speculate that the much awaited prequel to the well-received title will be announced at the highly anticipated E3 Event this June.

Just recently, a senior developer at Rockstar Games named Feinstein revealed that the development of Red Dead Redemption 2 has already commenced  but a new name for the upcoming game is yet to be established.   

According to online reports, a member of the Reddit community, called AnonDN1978, who is purportedly a former Rockstar developer tipped that the continuation of the western sandbox game will be titled 'Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West which is a prequel and is now 3.5 years in development.

The source cited that the game is set twelve years before the events of Red Dead Redemption adding that there are three playable characters, two from the original game, Irish & Seth, and one completely new.

Irish who grew up in Ireland ends in the setting of the game around his 21th birthday while Seth is from Kansas City who works at a bank. When he hears about a treasure, he begins his journey to to Tumbleweed, Texas.

The third mysterious protagonist is a creation of his own similar to the character that gamers can make in GTA 5 Online . Players can customize outfits and trusted steed given the setting as well as the main mode of travel plus other personal options. It is said that this character must only be available in single player and would appear in campaign rather than during missions.

He would be a gun for hire working with Seth and Irish who are NPC partners (like other characters). Additionally, there will be other characters from RDR pass including Bonny Macfarlane, Sherrif and John Marston, who then was part of his notorious gang.

A major feature of the prequel is the new corridor system  that will allow players to connect to different gangs or just on the right side of the law. 

It's nearly five years after Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010. At the moment, these slew of information must be taken with a grain of salt until Rockstar Games announces solid details on the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, perhaps at E3 this June?
