Boeing has announced its acquisition of CPU Technology Inc.'s Acalis microprocessor business as it continues to address the need of its customers worldwide to protect warfighters from information-assurance hostility.

Acalis business, which has a total of approximately 40 employees in Pleasanton, California, will be merged into the Global Strike Division of Boeing Military Aircraft.

Boeing Military Aircraft president said in a released statement that Acalis offers security chip capable of defending any aircraft, manned or unmanned, which they are building at Boeing. He added that Acalis' processors onboard will allow war fighters to complete missions without being undermined by malware.

The acquisition is expected to boost Boeing's strategy of increasing their vertical depth to improve its stance in global aerospace.
