Alvarion has recently entered into an agreement with Telrad networks for the acquisition of Alvarion's carrier licensed division. Alvarion is a provider of wireless broadband solutions while Telrad is into telecommunication solutions. The sale would amount to US$6.1 million and it would be broken into performance based milestone payments.

Alvarion established its licensed carrier division fifteen years ago and has expanded both in technical expertise and operational experience. Amongst the included assets in the sale is the BreezeCOMPACT solution for OPEX and CAPEX services to operators. This has been deployed with Tier 1 and Tier 2 operators in Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America.

Another aspect of the sale is the formalization of a reseller agreement where Alvarion would continue providing carrier licensed solutions to its existing partners and distributors while Telrad would provide unlicensed solutions to carrier clientele upon completion of the transaction. The sale is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2013.
