Sony is expected to soon unveil more about the features as well as the development of one of its most ambitious ventures to date: the Project Morpheus.

With Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) senior game designer Jed Ashforth attending the annual Nordic Game conference in Malmo, Sweden it is expected he would talk more about Project Morpheus. He is scheduled to have a talk entitled "Beyond Immersion - Designing for Project Morpheus" on 20 May.

According to the official description of the session, Ashforth will be discussing "the exciting Project Morpheus VR platform with practical information for game developers exploring the possibilities of virtual reality".

Ashforth is also expected to have a talk with the same title at the second Shayla Games VR Jam taking place from 22 - 24 May in Copenhagen, Denmark. That one is scheduled to happen on 22 May at 13:00 GMT.

With Project Morpheus, players become part of the game by wearing the headset and experiencing its virtual world. It would definitely set a different gaming experience compared to the usual way games are now played.

Meanwhile reports indicate that game designers have taken off a suicide scene in the original demo of London Heist which is available for Project Morpheus.

"It can be quite scary. Originally, when the Sony London team was making the London Heist demo, they had the ability for you to shoot yourself. And that felt wrong - it was too stressful. The medium is so powerful, so we need to be careful with what we provide," Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida said.

It seems virtual reality really is serious business.

Looks like there will be plenty of information available soon the Sony's Project Morpheus in a few more winks. The upcoming virtual reality headset, which is designed to be fully functional with the Playstation 4 and the Playstation Vita game systems, is set for a Q1 2016 release.
