It is less than a year before 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' hits theaters, and as the premiere of the movie approaches, more information and updates about next year's superhero blockbuster begin to surface. One of the most interesting developments recently is the release of the said images of Ben Affleck as Batman in full color, as reported by IGN a few days ago. The new version of the Batsuit received mixed reactions, with some criticizing its "ragged" appearance, and some praising it for its accurate representation of who Affleck's Dark Knight is in the story.

As seen in the image, the Batsuit worn by Affleck is very much different from the one used by actor Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' trilogy - Affleck's suit looks closer to the comic books compared to the realistic, armor-type outfit that Bale wore. While most of the fans welcomed the "Bat-fleck" look in that it resembled the comic book version of the Dark Knight in the comics, there were still some who criticized the costume's apperance, with some even saying that the suit looked like it was made out of duct tape.

If there is one thing that everyone agrees about this image, it is the fact that Warner Bros. made the right decision in casting Affleck as the Dark Knight. Looking closely at the picture, one could see how it does not look like an actor in a Batsuit - instead, it looks exactly like a live-action version of the comic book Bruce Wayne in the Batman outfit.

One of the most significant reasons why many critics think that this version of the Batsuit looks amazing is that it accurately reflects the kind of Batman that Affleck is set to portray in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.' The rugged look of the Batsuit showcases the kind of suit that only a seasoned veteran would wear - one should remember that in this universe, Batman has been there even before Superman showed up, and the suit in the image seemingly bears the scars of the Dark Knight's extensive crime fighting career.

Another interesting development in 'Bvs: DoJ' is the said "new design" of the Batwing. The trailer for 'Batman v Superman' showed a brief glimpse of the Batwing in action, but fans could not make out what it actually looked like. Fortunately, Cinema Blend published a report on a post made by famous scooper Umberto Gonzalez that featured the design of the Batwing that was used in the movie. While it is not explained where Gonzalez got the photo from, it is clear that this version of the Batwing is sleeker and closer to the comic-book version than "The Bat" in 'The Dark Knight Rises.'

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.
