"Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void" developers discussed additional details for the beta in the "Starcraft 2" site. It mentioned a new Terran unit under experimentation, which may do "high damage, low rate of fire" or "low damage, high rate of fire" or "variable attack 'modes', and others. Gameplay changes were also revealed in the update. Further, even though Gamescons 2015 is still few months away, Blizzard has already announced the developer's lineup for the event.

A balance update preview for the "Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void" was released in the Starcraft website. According to the site, the latest patch will bring new features and changes such as:

  • New Terran Unit
    • High damage, low rate of fire
    • Low damage, high rate of fire
    • Variable attack "modes" - High damage/low range & Low damage w/ high range
    • Small radius area attack w/ high damage
    • And more...
  • Gameplay Changes
    • New Reaper grenade ability
    • Mineral amounts changed from 100%/50% to 100%/60%
    • Protoss: Warp-in duration reverted to Heart of the Swarm
    • Adept
    • Cyclone
    • Navy upgrade
    • Ravager
    • Swarm host

The site did not give additional details about the new Terran unit, except that it would be from the Starport. Hence, the unit could be "just about anything."

Still, the patch developers said:

"In general, we believe that armies made from the Factory or Starport will be more capable as independent compositions in Legacy of the Void. Players will be able to commit to a tech-path specifically, and so we are also interested in splitting out the mech and air upgrades again. We believe that bringing back this choice is a potential improvement for the game."

Blizzard Entertainment previously announced its lineup for the Gamescon 2015 on August 5-9. Touted as the "second biggest gaming trade fair," the event will take place in Cologne, Germany. Hopefully, fans will get some insight on when "StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void" will be released.

Blizzard Entertainment is said to include more than 500 game stations for participants to try out, which will include video games such as "Hearthstone", "World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor", "Heroes of the Storm", "Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void, and "Overwatch".

It is assumed that more details about the future raids of the "World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor", and release dates of "Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void and "Overwatch" beta test would be discussed in the event.
