The "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" may be released right after the release of the much anticipated "Mortal Kombat X" video game. Casts of the "Mortal Kombat" film are also unavailable of the moment leading to a speculation that a computer -generated film might actually be on the works.

A 2015 release was initially set for the film but the production is pushing it forward to a 2016 release according to reports. A leaked Scorpion and Sub-Zero fight scene was released online but the clip looks more like of a gameplay rather than a clip from the Mortal Kombat movie. Movie Producers has yet to confirm the leaked trailer and its connection to the plot.

The director of the 1995 movie "Mortal Kombat" is Paul W.S. Anderson and he neither confirms nor denies his involvement in the upcoming movie reboot of the franchise. Kevin Tancharoen is also rumored to be joining the movie this time around but two years ago, he has already confirmed on sitting out for the "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" film.

It is safe to believe that creative differences were his reason behind his decisions to ditch the movie.
