An Orthodox Jewish Israeli news website appeared to have cut TV and personality Kim Kardashian out of a picture in its published article last week. The editor of Kikkar HaShabbat says the socialite is regarded as a pornographic symbol.

CONCEALED WITH A BILL

In a report, the said news website which is in the Hebrew language, featured Kardashian and her husband rapper Kanye West having dinner with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat. The picture however did not include Kardashian who was at the left side. Instead, her picture was superimposed with a receipt showing only West and the Mayor. The receipt was said to be their bill at the restaurant in which they dined in. Another photo meanwhile, shows a blurred Kardashian. Her name was also not mentioned and she was instead referred to as "West's wife".

On April 15, the website's editor, Nissim Ben Haim was quoted in saying that the reason behind the removal of her picture was because Kardashian was considered as a "pornographic" symbol. This, he said, is against their religious standards. Moreover, he said that people under the Orthodox religion believe that it is indecent to present or highlight women in public.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME

Another report said Mayor Barkat was also criticized by the website saying that it was insensitive of him to invite the couple to a non-kosher restaurant. Majority of his constituents are said to observe the kosher diet as part of the Jewish religion. Barkat however was reported to have not eaten non-kosher meals such as buttered chicken au gratin. Still, the mayor warmly welcomed the couple and even posted on Facebook that he has asked Kim and Kanye to be ambassadors of Jerusalem. He told them to spread the word that Jerusalem is "an open city and welcomes everyone".

The couple was in Jerusalem together with their daughter North and Kim's sister Khloe. Aside from having North baptized in the city, they also visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The said church is believed to be where Jesus was crucified, buried and is where he resurrected.

MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE

Amid the photoshop news, Kim Kardashian, dubbed as one of the most photographed women, does not seem to be affected. On her Twitter account, she had a post of a picture of her that revealed her cleavage. She also revealed her excitement for being included in the 2015 Time 100 List of the Most Influential people.

Kim Kardashian has not directly given any official statement yet regarding the removal of her photo of the said Orthodox Jewish Israeli website, or her being regarded as a "pornographic symbol".
