A new trailer for "Ant-Man" has just been released recently, which gave the fans a clearer idea of who's who and the general conflict of the movie. The trailer shows Paul Rudd throwing punch lines and punches as the new Marvel superhero member of the studio's Cinematic Universe. "Ant-Man" will cap MCU's Phase 2 and will fall ahead of "Captain America: Civil War," which will kick off the Phase 3 on summer 2016. With this line up, how will "Ant-Man" connect in the MCU and affect the "Captain America 3" storyline?

The new "Ant-Man" trailer displays Paul Rudd as the size-shifting Scott Lang, shrinking through the help of his suit created by Hank Pym (the first Ant-Man in the comics). The trailer showed us Scott Lang's background as a reformed thief who has a daughter and is practically a nobody until he was approached by Hank (played by Michael Douglas).

With the forthcoming release of "Ant-Man", superhero fans are asking about his possible connection to other Marvel superhero movies, especially to the "Captain America: Civil War" storyline. But then, since Scott Lang has no celebrity status unlike Tony Stark or Steve Rogers, he still has to be wary of people knowing his identity. This makes his story apt to the "Civil War" storyline, where masked superheroes are being required to reveal their identities to authorities. Marvel could include new superheroes that, like Scott Lang, are still protecting their identities to support the plot of "Captain America: Civil War"

Meanwhile, with the upcoming release of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," fans thought it will be the final film of MCU's second phase. Clearly that's not the case as "Ant-Man" will be capping Phase 2 this year. As a respond to the notion that "Ant-Man" is just an afterthought, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige emphasized the movie's significance.

"You meet new characters and you learn about Hank Pym and his lineage with the MCU over the years. But at the same time, it also picks up the thread of "Age of Ultron" in terms of heroes - major heroes, Avengers - coming from unexpected places," Feige said.

"Ant-Man" will star Paul Rudd as the reformed thief that became a size-shifting superhero hitting theaters on July 17, 2015. The movie will culminate MCU's Phase 2 and will fall right before "Captain America: Civil War." This arrangement allows "Ant-Man" to connect in the complicated storyline of "Civil War" that will put masked superheroes in precarious situations.
