Sleepy Hollow, having been renewed by Fox for another supernatural season 3, is going to go some changes following the tear-jerking season finale the show left fans with. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) are going to face a new set of challenges now that Henry and Katrina are gone, and their relationship will grow throughout those struggles.

Tom Mison has also expressed his ideas about what the third season of the supernatural drama, such as the aftermath of Ichabod losing his family.

While Sleepy Hollow season three will still involve problems with supernatural entities causing chaos in the city, fans will see the Ichabod and Abby dynamic being explored as they fight to keep the city safe. As they spend more time together solving these mysteries, they could develop romantic feelings for one another that were hindered by Katrina's presence.

When TVLine asked Mison about whether or not Ichabod will turn over a dark leaf in the new season because while Katrina and Henry became his enemies, they were still his family. The actor expressed that Ichabod is not the type to become evil due to tragic circumstances but it is possible that he will bottle up his feelings about it and move on without really seeking or gaining closure. Mison found that it would be an interesting direction to travel and that those emotions would bubble out of him in bursts of aggression as Ichabod has done in previous episodes.

In another interview with Variety, Mison has also talked about how happy he was with the remaining group after the season 2 finale - Abbie, Ichabod, Jenny (Lydie Greenwood), and Irving (Orlando Jones). He thinks that they could really start the new season strongly with these characters and any combination of the four would ensure fun scenes everyone could enjoy.

He also mentioned that he would like some characters from the previous seasons to return. He singled out Joe Corbin (Zach Appleman) mostly because he was turned into a wendigo and that he would be an interesting addition to the core group, likening him to the Hulk in The Avengers.

No matter what happens in Sleepy Hollow season 3, know that fans will be watching a show that is starting off on a clean slate after the season two finale. There is still no word as to when Sleepy Hollow will come back but it will definitely air this fall if the last two seasons' premiere dates are anything to go by.
