It's already Q2 2015, and anticipation is high for the release of Sony's newest flagship phone, Sony Xperia Z4.

We previously reported that the Sony Xperia Z4 is to be released sometime Q3, but recent developments and leaks make it appear that the Japanese multinational corporation's latest smartphone might be released sooner than originally expected.

Based on the images found online a couple of days back, it appears the design is similar to its predecessor. It's safe to assume that the LTE-ready phone unit will have a 146.3x71.9x7.2mm dimension.

As for the specs, the Sony Xperia Z4 will have a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The shatter-proof display will also support multi-touch (up to 10 fingers).

Behind its Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS is a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset are two CPUs, a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and a Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57, and an Adreno 430 GPU.

The Z4 has a 4GB RAM and two internal memory options, a 32GB and a 64GB, which are expandable via microSD of up to 128GB.

The new Sony smartphone has a 20.7MP, 5248 х 3936 pixel main camera and a 5MP secondary camera.

Finally, a non-removable 3420mAH Li-Ion battery provides power to the unit. The Z4 is initially available in black, white and yellow.

The Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to have a price tag of around US$630.

Based on reactions online, a number of users have commented the unit to have the look of both the Z2 and the Z3. Since being released around six months ago, the Z3, so far, has been well received by smartphone users due to its features and interface.

However, while Sony appears to have sticked with the Omnibalance design the company does have a track record of making improvements of the previous iterations of the company's flagship, Sony Xperia Z4, so it would still be worth the wait -- which hopefully would end soon enough.
