Finally, the update for Nexus 5 smartphone users is here. To note, the Android 5.1 Lollipop roll-out comes a month after Google's official announcement.

From the looks of it, Android 5. 1 Lollipop update is set to improve the Nexus 5 user experience. With this, Nexus 5 fans should be expecting timely improvements and fixes for a slew of issues facing them - not to mention cool features.

Finally the Magic

It was not too long ago that Nexus 5 users have had a  hard time over numerous issues with the Lollipop roll-out. It looks like the initial roll-out did not get the improvements as promised.

This time around, the new Android 5.1 LMY47I is set to deliver the necessary fixes, according to Tech Times. To note this particular build has additional features that includes SIM card improvements.

Apparently, the build that was initially forwarded to select Nexus 5 users after Google's announcement was of a different build number - not LMY47I.

In hindsight, Verizon had to stop the roll-out of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update after releasing it to some the Galaxy S5, former flagship smartphone of Samsung, as reported on theDroidguy.

Even with no official announcement, it is widely suspected that the initial roll-out revealed various issues that needed to be addressed.

It is believed the same scenario is happening between Google's initial roll-out of the Android update necessitating a new build number.

Spreading the Blessings

With such a generous showing for Nexus 5 users, it is but a matter of time that Android 5.1 updates will be available for the other Nexus smartphones, namely Nexus 9, Nexus 7 2013, Nexus 7 (cellular) and Nexus 4.

While the Search Giant has given its confirmation on the updates for all the four devices, it has not set any particular date to do so. Also, it is not clear if what will be available to thes devices will be the Android 5.1 or its latest upgrade the Android 5.1.1, an update which will likely be able to fix the memory leak problem affecting many Android 5.1 users.

At the very least, Nexus 5 users should smile.
