Controversial Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Chris Brown will kickstart April with two much-awaited concerts in South Africa. Joining the global singing sensation at Coca-Cola Dome, Johannesburg and then at the Moses Mabhida People's Park, Durban is  August Alsina.

The R&B artist, who has drawn worldwide attention for his tumultuous love life and skirmishes with the law, has been very busy promoting his new album dubbed X. Since last year, the talented singer has been guesting in shows like "The Tonight Show" and performing his hit song "Loyal" which soared in the Billboard Hot 100 in late April to May 2014.

The album, which had a delayed yet successful September release, features the upbeat song "Loyal," "Autumn Leaves" with  American rapper Kendrick Lamar, "Love More" with Nicki Minaj, "New Flame" with Usher, and other catchy tracks. X remains on the top 100 of  Billboard's Hot 100 chart to date.

Notwithstanding Chris Brown's womanizing ways, bad temper and occasional aggressive behavior, his fanbase has not dwindled. The singing sensation is a clear-cut illustration that you can't put a talented artist down. Apart from churning out his own hits, Chris Brown continues to collaborate with other artists, including R&B  vixen Sevyn Streeter. He is the featured artist in one of the songs in her debut album "On the Verge."

The last quarter of the year had definitely been a busy time for Chris Brown, who hit the road with Tyga & Trey Songz for their concert at the Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Events Center this March. At the start of the year, a commotion broke out that led to gunfire and injured people at Chris Brown's concert at a San Jose, California nightclub. The singer emerged unscathed. Fans are hoping that the rest of the year will be smooth-sailing for the chart-topping singer, whose personal travails have often overshadowed his career highs.
