PS4 owners who have downloaded the 2.5 update for their next generation gaming console still needed to perform another step in order that the enhancements that come with the update take effect on their PS4 consoles. The latest firmware update was also one of the most anticipated updates for PS4 to date.

The 2.5 update, which was codenamed "Yukimura," would feature enhancements to PS4 that the next generation gaming console owners have either waited for or requested for; some of the updates might even surprise the PS4 owners, based on an entry on PlayStation Blog.

The features in the 2.5 update would include a Suspend/Resume that would be supported by nearly all PS4 titles, a Facebook friend finder feature, optimized trophy list and improved account security with sub-account upgrade and verified accounts update to name a few. Add to that, PS Vita and PlayStation App for Android and iOS would also be receiving an update.

However, PS4 gamers still needed to perform an additional step in order to unlock all of the features included in the recently released PS4 "Yukimura" firmware update. On the save settings, gamers needed to activate "Keep Application Suspend." This would result to the activation of the Suspend/Resume feature that would be included in the recent update; also, gamers would most likely avoid losing their game progress by activating that option under save settings.

Add to that, a video on the PS4 "Yukimura and PS Vita 3.5 firmware update was uploaded by GameSpot on their YouTube channel that further elaborated the various features gamers would be able to check-out upon activating the updates on their Sony gaming consoles. As for the PS Vita firmware update, the request of game console owners for enhanced accessibility options including button remapping have been granted. Add to that, Sony streamlined some of the apps included in the PS Vita by removing the YouTube and Maps apps.

Overall, the PlayStation firmware updates would certainly be a welcome addition to the increasing popularity of PS4, thanks to newly released exclusive titles like "Bloodborne."
