Bandai Namco ensured that "Tekken 7" will not have a "Mature" rating from ESRB. Thus, game director confirmed that they will not include blood from the entire game.

Lately, Tekken 7 director, Katsuhiro Harada, answered one of the fan's tweet regarding features that will be observed in the game fights. This refers to characters if scratched, blood will be seen afterwards or just some dirt and water to include during these matches.

He said, "Dirt, Water, Sweat. No blood because rating problem for arcade," through his official Twitter account.

According to the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), a game especially if purchased in the United States, they should have the ESRB rating since this is the main policy that retailers must know and uphold to their game stocks available for retailing.

Based from their policies, submitting a certain game for review, this is a voluntary act from the game developers themselves. One of them is Bandai Namco, who owns Tekken 7 set for release in North America this March.

Thus, from the seven ratings that the ESRB could give to a game like Tekken 7, having a "Mature" rating is already high. Harada wanted to avoid this kind of rating, fearing that the players might be limited causing low sales at the end compared to games with no mature rating.

ESRB detailed that when a game is rated with "Mature," it means that the game is limited to players aged 17 years old and above since it contains blood and gore, intense violence, sexual content and/or strong language.

With these being said, Harada clearly hinted that "Tekken 7" is suitable for audiences, players in all ages without restrictions nor threats in parenting [as M-rated games is avoided for young kids].

Meanwhile, Bandai Namco was rumored to use Unreal Engine 4 for "Tekken 7" for game details from clothing, to characters' sweat, dirt and so on. With its release, rest assured that the gameplay will not be too violent. However, it was previously reported that he wanted to use the engine to rapidly achieve visual quality expected for current-generation consoles.

"Tekken 7" will be released in PS4, Xbox One in North America and Europe this March.
