Be warned- the following could contain MASSIVE spoilers for the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Or it could all be speculation. Either way, proceed with caution.

HNGN may have just dropped a gigantic spoiler about the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"- and, at the same time, "Suicide Squad" both of which are set to premiere in 2016. According to these spoilers, the Joker may kill a character who's been a crucial part of Batman's world: Commisioner Jim Gordon.

It's already been confirmed that Gordon's dead in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." He was killed by unknown causes before the movie ever began. But eventually, they'll have to reveal just what caused Gordon's death, and it can't be something as inconsequential as old age or disease. It has to be something important- something like being murdered by Batman's arch-nemesis.

Which would also tie into "Suicide Squad," because we can assume that killing Gordon is the reason Joker is in prison during that film. That also may mean that Gordon's death is a crucial plot point in "Suicide Squad" as well.

Having that kind of gruesome death as part of the film's backstory also fits in with what Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara recently said about the DC Comics movie universe- that they're distancing themselves from Marvel by making all their movies dark and edgy. "The worlds of DC are very different," said Tsujihara, via Den of Geek. "They're steeped in realism, and they're a little bit edgier than Marvel's movies." That would definitely include killing off a few characters, wouldn't it?

"Batman v Superman" is coming along nicely, with the actors getting into incredible shape (including "Wonder Woman" actress Gal Gadot) to play some of DC's finest superheroes. Now all we have to do is wait for it to come out.
