OS updates address lingering issues that phone users have to put up with as a result of flaws in their device's processor. This also holds true for superb OS like that of Apple's very own iOS. Thus the series of updates in the iOS 8 series, now with the iOS 8.1.3 being the latest for Apple devices running on iOS 8 operating system, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus included.

One of the expected problems that come with the update, and one that is easily fixable, is the installation problems.

To fix this problem, hold down the power button and home button at the same time until the device restarts. This could end in two different results. One is it could get the updates flowing again; the other is, it may start over. The latter occurs if the installation updates do not continue automatically after restarting the phone.

Note, though, that this trick does not work every time, but it has worked many times before on many iPhone users so it's worth trying.

Another typical problem that emerges after getting the updated OS on board is the App issues due to incompatibility. It can be solved with the help of third-party developers and sometimes with a little change in bad habits.

Some iPhone users tend to forget to turn on automatic App Store. As a result, they miss having the updated version of apps installed in their phones. To keep apps updated, head into Settings, followed by iTunes and App Store, then Toggle Updates On.

If that does not work, the other way to fix this issue is to relay the problem to the developer of the application. App developers may not be aware that the problem exists until someone brings it to their attention. By letting them know, they can start fixing the problem and include it in the upcoming update.

Battery life problem is also a problem that is expected to arise after updating the iPhone iOS, so it's not surprising after making the move with iOS 8.1.3.

There are several ways to fix this problem, including the following:

Find power-hungry apps. To see which apps use the most battery life, head to Settings, General, Usage, Battery Usage. Phone users can either prevent from using apps that consume too much battery life when away from power supply or delete it if it's not a priority app.

Trying on some useful battery apps from iTunes can also help users keep track of their apps battery usage and teach them about their phones as well, especially in keeping the battery healthy.

Restart or reset the device. If the device starts heating up, or has been abnormally draining, after installing the iOS update, try restarting the device to see if doing that could help return things back to normal.

For major battery problems, restoring all the app settings could be the key. To do this, go to Settings, General, Reset, All Settings. Enter the pass code when prompted. This will bring app settings to their default settings.

If that does not work, reinstalling the OS update via restore mode is the next step to do. Moving back to the previous OS used to be an option too and so with jailbreak tweaks, until Apple ceased to allow either of the two.

Limiting background app refresh, deactivating the auto brightness mode, and disabling iCloud keychain also help other iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus users fix battery problems after having the iOS 8.1.3 in their phones.
