United Mobile Apps Pvt. Ltd. Announces Funding of One Million USD by Mumbai Angels

United Mobile Apps Pvt. Ltd. completed its Series A round of funding, of one million USD led by Mumbai Angels, one of the premier Angel Networks in India.

United Mobile Apps (UMA) focuses on delivering key innovations for the next generation wireless networks, with immediate emphasis on 4G/LTE (Long Term Evolution Technology).  UMA has already integrated its solutions with some of the leading semiconductor vendors.

Sriram V Iyer, co-founder, UMA says, "We are extremely excited to have completed this round of funding which will enable some of our key expansion initiatives and setup sales/marketing channels in APAC, EU regions and in the USA. We are in the verge of a 4G revolution and UMA is well poised to deliver its innovations to fuel growth of the next generation wireless networks."

Mumbai Angels led this round of funding, joined by Blume Ventures, India Venture Partners (Mauritius) and Christopher Preinz and Associates (EU). The total amount of 1 Million USD is the largest investment by Mumbai Angels. Anil Joshi, VP, Mumbai Angels says, "Mumbai Angels has the vision of supporting startups that foster innovation and push boundaries of the domain they work on. We are very glad to support UMA - Some of the technologies that they work on will power next generation of mobile and wireless devices, and we are confident they'll emerge as a major global player in the 4G/LTE domain."

UMA has also expanded their marketing/sales to Japan, and are working on some key partnerships in that region. Arun, Co-Founder, UMA says, "Access to capital at this juncture will help UMA expand its engineering, marketing/sales and R&D activities. We are very excited to partner with Mumbai Angels, and we are confident that their wide network of Angels will help us with key partnerships apart from the capital!"

Ashpi Gupta, who led this round from Mumbai Angels quoted, "We are glad to see the next generation of startups emerge, on domains like 4G wireless in India, which were only previously limited to the Valley. It is a healthy trend, and we are confident that our investment in UMA will encourage more founders to start more such ventures."

UMA is well poised to expand their key offerings and work on their core Connection Management, Device Management and Data Synchronization platforms and enable silicon vendors, device manufacturers and operators deliver a connected experience to the end-users.
