Kelly Clarkson may have a new album coming out this year, titled "Piece by Piece," but that doesn't mean everything's perfect for the former "American Idol" star. In fact, she might even be depressed.

Here's what's causing the superstar to be so glum- while recording "Piece by Piece," Clarkson apparently invited multiple guest artists to come in and work with her. And of the many she asked, only one did- John Legend. Everyone else gave her the cold shoulder.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1 (via Billboard), Clarkson explained her current state of loneliness.

I honestly would collaborate with a lot of people, but everyone usually says no," Clarkson revealed. "I'm not kidding you. I have legitimately asked several people that I'm not going to call out."

Clarkson also revealed just how she came into contact with Legend for their collaboration.

"I got John Legend to say yes and he's cool," she continued. "I ask good people, I don't want to sing with crap people, so I mean, I ask people who are great vocalists, but I'm not going to point out anyone....  I have asked several people. Sometimes I feel like I have the plague, or leprosy, they're like, 'If you get too close...' I don't know."

But if Clarkson's depressed, she's not showing it outwardly. She revealed in the Daily Mail that she "doesn't care" what others think of her appearance, which sounds pretty confident. And certainly not like someone who's been rejected so many times on so many artistic collaborations.

"Piece by Piece" drops next week, on February 27, 2015. The tracklist recently leaked via the Tennessean, revealing that the album will have 13 tracks (16 on the "Deluxe Edition," and that Clarkson and Leged's duet will be titled "Run Run Run." Other famous musicians may not want to be on it, but we're guessing "Piece by Piece" will be a pretty big hit with the fans.
