'Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden' Release Date: 2D Anime fighting game brings over 100 characters on Nintendo 3DS this summer in Japan

Hail, anime fans! The Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden release date this summer in Japan has been revealed in the latest issue of V Jump Magazine.

The Dragon Ball Xenoverse has just been released in Japan this month and arrives in a few days on Xbox One, PS4 consoles across North America and Europe. Now, it appears that Japanese anime fans will be able to get a taste of another iteration of DBZ Botouden video game series pretty soon.

As reported, V-Jump magazine has confirmed a day ago that Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden will be released this Summer in Japan on Nintendo 3DS.

This new 2D fighting game developed by Bandai Namco will be featuring over 100 characters in a one vs. one match as well as team battles using special finishing moves known as the Ultimate Artes including special support technique from characters like Bulma and Chi-Chi plus other incredible new features.

The Dragon Ball Z: Butouden series is among the longest running Dragon Ball video game series in history where first entries of the franchise had been launched on Nintendo Super Famicom over two decades past .The last entry of the series, Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden, was released on Nintendo DS back in 2011.

On the other hand, The Dragon Ball Xenoverse that is the latest game developed for the series will be bringing around 50 playable characters and some major new features including the ability of players to create his own personal unique character and a lot more.

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden will be released in Japan sometime this summer as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive.

So far, there is nothing mentioned in this latest news that Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden will likely have a Western release but more information and updates will be definitely announced at a later date.
