Delta apologized on its Twitter account Tuesday afternoon for the lewd post after its Facebook page was hacked.

The post featured a photo of a bowl of so-called Chinese penis fish and accompanying vulgar headline about oral sex ""10 reasons Why Girls Dont Give B-------".

Abruptly, Delta removed both the links and posted its sorry via Twitter account, telling the page was compromised.

Business Insider reported that the airline's media department tweeted less than an hour after it was hacked. "Within an hour, Delta was able to work with Facebook to remove objectionable and offensive content posted to the airline's page, Tuesday afternoon. Delta apologizes for the unauthorized content that appeared on the site. We are investigating the source of the hack and will incorporate any key lessons to strengthen our social media security measures. No other Delta social media platforms were compromised."

Moreover, Facebook users who replied to the post also knew it was not standard Delta content.

"Poor Delta," said Brittany Thurman, a Facebook user on the page. "I sense a public apology will be announced shortly."

"I think Delta's Facebook has been hacked," added Alex Ward.

In a statement posted to Facebook, Delta apologized for the "objectionable and offensive content that was posted on our Facebook page earlier."

"With help from Facebook we were able to remove the unauthorized content shortly after it posted. Delta is investigating the source of the hack. No other social media platforms were affected," the statement said.

According to The Huffington Post, a Delta spokeswoman Lindsay McDuff told them, "We're looking into it." However, McDuff did not further explain about why the post was left up for an hour before being deleted.

In the same case, Crayola was also hacked and posted a similar headline and photo. The company apologized soon after and blamed unidentified hackers for breaking into the page and posting the links.

After they have removed the post, Delta Airlines Facebook page quickly restored to normal.
