'Attack on Titan' Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: 'Shingeki No Kyojin' Second Anime Series Confirmed to Debut Next Year; ‘Wings of Freedom’ Opens In Theaters This June

The release date of season 2 of the hugely popular post-apocalyptic anime series, Attack on Titan, has been confirmed to happen next and fans who are eagerly anticipating for its return would be delighted to hear that production for the sequel has initiated last October. 

The news of the arrival was announced by the cast and crew during a panel interview at the midnight premiere of Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow film in Japan . Actors Yuki Kaji (Eren), Yui Ishikaw (Mikasa), Marina Inoue (Armin) and director Tetsuro Araki said the Attack on Titan 2 release date is expected sometime next year.

In addition, it was rumored that the production has already kicked off in October last year while the second installment film, Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom, is expected to open in theatres on June 27.

Following the unparalleled success of compilation films' premiere in Japan, American fans would just be up to see the two-part film that the US distribution companies should have to grab to capitalize on this global hit anime movie. 

At present, anime enthusiasts have been viewing the 'Attack on Titan: No Regrets, Birth of Levi prequel anime released on December 9 alongside Volume 15 of the best-selling manga. The storyline narrates the time before Eren and Mikasa joined Levi's Survey Corps and how Levi and Erwin met.

Anime fans can now buy the two original animation DVDs that contain volume 15 and 16 of the main manga. The first release was December 9 last year, and the next schedule is on April 9.

Attack on Titan animated series is set in a functional city called Shinganshina that is surrounded by massive walls that serve as a defense against Titans - the gigantic humanoid creatures that devour humans.

Attack on Titan season 2 release date will happen about a year from now, sometime in 2016, that is.
