The 63rd Annual Miss Universe Pageant is fast approaching as 88 candidates from all around the globe vie to wear the new DIC crown. Who among them got the biggest bets on the said competition? Miss Philippines seem to be the loudest, brightest among the rest.

Mary Jean Lastimosa, the North Cotabato, Philippines-raised beauty queen, is creating a lot of noise on the social media. With the help of her Filipino fans, Miss Universe Philippines seems to be running towards the top. Despite this is not the measurement to win the title, it is, however, a massive impact on the sponsors, reportedly.

The Miss Universe 2014 pageant is set to be held in Doral next week. Despite the large base of Venezuelans in town, there are sparks of rumors that Filipinos will be overly supporting their queen and that they will support the long due crown to be worn by an Asian this time. It has been six straight years when Asia had the win and that was Riyo Mori from Japan, who was crowned Miss Universe 2007 in Mexico.

Aside from the large fan-base, the runner-up winning streaks of the Philippines' delegates from 2010 to 2013 have been hard not to notice. Concerning such, it is inevitable not to consider the Filipina beauty winning the coveted crown.

Speaking of the Asians, Miss Universe Indonesia Elvira Devinamira, who is also dubbed as the "vibrant and confident woman" sits beside Lastimosa's name in the list of frontrunners. Moreover, Pimbongkod Chankaew from Thailand becomes well-known on the social media, as well. Perhaps seeing Asians beside the never-ending beauty of Latinas would be good battle of beauty and brains in the runway.

Meanwhile, Paulina Vega, the Barranquilla, Columbia-raised queen, is one of the Latina frontrunners, for she had been distinct for her elegant walk.

Other eyed candidates, who might make the cut are Desiré Ferrer Cordero (from Spain), Andjelka Tomasevic (from Serbia), Nia Sanchez (from USA), and Yulia Alipova (from Russia).

Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines has garnered the most number of likes on Facebook and pageviews on her Youtube official interview, while the official trailer has featured many Filipino candidates from the previous years.

Gabriela Isler, Miss Venezuela 2013, will be passing the crown.

Miss Universe 2014 will air this Sunday, January 25, at 8/7c on NBC live from FIC Arena Doral, Miami.
