On December 1, CJ E&M announced that Grammy Award winning R&B singer songwriter John Legend will be performing at the upcoming "2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards" (MAMA 2014), Enews reports.

The American artist who is known for his soulful voice and impressively written songs will be gracing the event together with some of today's top K-pop acts including EXO, GD x Taeyang, SISTAR, INFINITE, and IU.

Legend has received numerous recognitions for every album he has released in the past. The MV of his 2013 hit song "All of Me" has over 300 million views on YouTube and the song has received overwhelming popularity in various countries around the world.

Other than "All of Me," some of his well-loved songs include "Ordinary People," "P.D.A. (Just Don't Care)," and "Someday."

The MAMA 2014 staff stated, "We'll be working to make MAMA into a new and improved show that will be spotlighted by the world, along with the performance of John Legend, who is known as one of the best R&B singer songwriters in existence."

Soompi noted that previously that the event's performers' lineup will include a mystery singer and now, it has been confirmed that it was John Legend. According to Soompi, Legend's attendance and performance in MAMA 2014 was confirmed after finalizing the singer's schedules.

In other news, Legend has added another Sydney show on his forthcoming "All of Me Tour," extending his Australian headline show's second round after his "Love In The Future" album release.

A year ago, the singer has toured Australia in support of fellow singer Alicia Keys. He was able to squeeze two headline shows on December 2013, one of which was at the Sydney Opera House.

Meanwhile, MAMA 2014 is one of the biggest music events in the Korean music scene. This year's award show will be held at the AsiaWorld-Expo Arena in Hong Kong on December 3.

The event is known for inviting global acts to share stage with some of the best K-pop artists. Last year, legendary American musician Stevie Wonder performed a collaboration stage alongside diva and SISTAR member Hyorin.

Adam Lambert  and B.o.B graced the show back in 2012 while Snoop Dogg, will.i.am, and Dr. Dre performed on MAMA 2011. In 2010, it was Far East Movement who performed for the award ceremonies.

Meanwhile, there are no news yet as to who will John Legend collaborate with in the upcoming event.
