Former Brazil central bank head to join KKR

Private equity company KKR & Co LP appointed Henrique Meirelles, former Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil, as a senior adviser.

Meirelles, whose appointment is effective immediately, headed Brazil's central bank from 2003 to 2010.

KKR appointed former Morgan Stanley chief executive John Mack to its senior advisory team in March.

Meirelles will play an important role in its activities in Brazil and Latin America, KKR said in a statement.
