"It's Certainly YG's Year!" This was what Korean media outlet OSEN wrote about the achievements of YG Entertainment artists this year. The South Korean record label featured the OSEN article through its blog, YG Life, with the title "2014 YG's Year: 7-for-7."

According to KpopStars, "7-for-7" in the title represents the accomplishments of the YG talents at the 2014 MelOn Music Awards. Among the award show's Top 10 Artists include Big Bang's Taeyang, new group WINNER, 2NE1, and rookie duo, Akdong Musician.

The YG artists are some of the big winners in the award show held on the Olympic Park in Seoul on November 13.

Taeyang bagged the Song of the Year award for hit his song "Eyes, Nose, Lips," which he performed during the ceremony. The group WINNER, which is a product of the talent show, "WIN: Who Is Next," won the Best New Artist award.

Globally popular female idol group 2NE1, meanwhile, received the Electronic Award for their song, "Come Back Home," while the brother-sister duo Akdong Musician took home the Folk award for their song, "200%."

It is also worth noting that some of the artists are also showing strong leads in the current vote rankings for the upcoming 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA 2014).

WINNER remains in the lead for the Best New Artist award with 32.5% of votes as of November 28. JYP Entertainment's rookie group, GOT7 is currently in second place with 31.2%.

Since the voting started, Taeyang's fans showed strong support as the Big bang member remained in the first place for the Best Male Artist award, with 31.8%. He is also in the lead for the Best Vocal Performance Male category for his phenomenal song "Eyes, Nose, Lips." For this award, he has already received over 15 million votes or 35.4% of the votes.

2NE1, meanwhile, is in a tight competition against SM Entertainment's Girls' Generation for the Best Female Group award. SNSD has so far received 25.2% of votes while 2NE1 has received 25%.

Other than awards and nominations, artists under the label have also successfully released albums this year. 2NE1 released their second studio album "Crush" in February. This was followed by Akdong Musician's debut album "Play" in April.

Taeyang's critically acclaimed album "Rise" was released in June, receiving overwhelming support from local and international fans.

August saw the release of WINNER's debut album "S/S," while Epik High made a successful comeback on October with their album "Shoebox."

Just recently, YG debuted new units such as Hi Suhyun and GD x Taeyang, the latter being one of the two hip hop projects by the record label.  Both singles of these two units were also successfully received by fans.

Meanwhile, YG is releasing another hip hop project with a three-member unit on December 2. So far, they have revealed the first two artists would be Bobby of the yet-to-debut iKON and old school YG artist Masta Wu.
