Kim Soo Hyun receives ‘Best Actor’ award at the 2014 ‘Tokyo Drama Awards,’ attends ‘Tokyo International Film Festival’

South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun was hailed "Best Actor" at the recent "Tokyo Drama Awards 2014." The phenomenal star gained popularity throughout Asia with his highly acclaimed performance in the Korean drama "You Who Came from the Stars."

Kim received his "Best Actor" award on October 23 as well as accepted the "Special Foreign Drama" award on behalf of the people behind the highly successful TV drama, Allkpop reports.

The actor said as he received his award, "I am honored to have received such a special award. I worked hard to express the years that Do Min Joon has lived and I am thankful that everyone had a positive response of it. The year 2014 was a very special year for me. Thank you for giving me such an undeserving award and I will work hard to live up to the support and love that everyone has given me."

Kim Soo Hyun played Do Min Joon in the SBS drama, which was broadcasted in 10 different countries.

On October 1, the actor has also received the grand prize (Daesang) at the 2014 Korea Drama Awards which was held at the Cultural Arts Center in Gyeongsngnam-do. Kim bested other Korean superstars including Lee Min Ho, Jun Ji Hyun, Ha Ji Won, and Cho Jae Hyun.

KpopStars reported that he will also be attending the red carpet opening of the "Tokyo International Film Festival" which will run from October 23 to October 31.

Allkpop also reported that Kim will be going back to Korea on October 24. On the 25th, he will attend the opening of a news Seoul landmark Dongdaemun Design Plaza as an honorary ambassador.

Earlier this year, Kim also won three awards at the 50th annual "Baeksang Arts Awards." He received "Male Rookie Actor" award and "Popularty" award for the film, "Secretly, Greatly," as well as another "Popularity" award for TV category for his phenomenal drama "You Who Came from the Stars."
