Jessica's announcement that she was no longer a member of Girls' Generation sent shockwaves not only to the K-Pop industry but also to millions of fans worldwide. This was followed by a statement by SM Entertainment confirming that Girls' Generation will continue as an eight-member group.

Other reports suggest the K-Pop star has sought legal help. Jessica reportedly went to attorney Lim Sang Hyuk's law firm in Myeongdong, Seoul.

An associate from the law firm told Korean publication Sports Seoul, "Most celebrities choose to call the office to discuss things first so it was odd to see Jessica actually come into the firm herself."

"We're suspecting she wanted to speak with a professional lawyer to discuss the issue at hand," added by the associate.

According to AllKPop, Lim Sang Hyuk denied his involvement through a phone interview. "I learned of the news through articles. However, I'm not taking her case. I did not meet with her," said the lawyer

Attorney Lim is known as the lawyer who handled lawsuit filed by former TVXQ members Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong against SM. The trio was able to nullify their contract with SM and formed their own group known today as JYJ.

Jessica explained her position on her departure from the group via social media, where she wrote a message in both English and Korean, according to The Korea Times. The K-pop star expressed her sadness over her agency and co-members' demand to exit from the group.

"I have devoted myself to Girls' Generation rather than my personal life and business," Jessica said in a statement. "However, the company (S.M. Entertainment) and fellow members I've been with for 15  years told me to leave the band."

The female idol also claimed that she had told her agency about her plan to open a business. Also she alleged that the agency and the rest of the group had a shift of position and asked her to choose between her business and Girls' Generation.

"I said it was unfair to force me to make a choice. Being a part of Girls' Generation is the best thing that has happened in my life, and I've never even considered leaving," Jessica said.
