Only two actors from last year's list made a comeback in this year's rankings-Robert Downey, Jr. and Dwayne Johnson. Last year's list included Channing Tatum, Hugh Jackman, and Mark Wahlberg. Unfortunately for this year, they're out of the picture.

For the second straight year, Robert Downey Jr. is at the top of the list obviously because of his role as the Marvel superhero, "Iron Man." At this point, it is hard to imagine an Avengers or Iron Man film without him on the movie. And with sequels to both movies lying on the horizon, he is likely to make more money and likely be on the next list again.

To determine the estimated earnings of each actor, Forbes talked to producers, lawyers, agents, and others with knowledge in the field. The earnings cover the period June 2013 to June 2014 and represents entertainment-related income. Taxes, agent fees, and the other costs of being a celebrity is not deducted from the figures. Here now are Forbes Top 5 Highest Paid Actors for 2014:

1. Robert Downey, Jr. - $75 million

Portraying "Iron Man" has made Robert Downey, Jr. the highest paid actor in Hollywood for the second year in a row. Earning nearly $4 billion in global box office, home videos, and in merchandise, Downey, Jr. made $75 million, the same amount he earned last year. He is also ranked 10th in Forbes' Celebrity 100 list, which is a mixture of money and fame.

2. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson - $52 millionn

Former wrestler turned actor Dwayne Johnson climbed from fifth last year to second spot of the highest paid actors. He made $52 million this year due to his work in movies such as in "The Fast and Furious" franchises, and recently, in "Hercules". He is set to star in the action flick, "San Andreas", which is slated for release next summer.

3. Bradley Cooper - $46 million

The voice behind Rocket Racoon in "Guardians of the Galaxy", Bradley Cooper made millions of money from "The Hangover" franchise as well as in "American Hustle". He got his earnings from mixing blockbuster movies with prestige films. Bradley Cooper also agreed to a pay cut for the lower-budget films but made huge profits and an Oscar nomination when the movie made $251 million at the global box office.

4. Leonardo DiCaprio - $39 million

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the few Hollywood actors who can give any studio their money's worth. He is fourth on Forbes' list with his earnings of $39 million. His last two movies, "The Great Gatsby" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" fared pretty well this year, generating a combined $743 million at the worldwide box office.

5. Chris Hemsworth - $37 million

Aside from Robert Downey, Jr., another Avenger on the list is Chris Hemsworth. He made $37 million this year thanks to the Thor sequel, "The Dark World", which beat the first "Thor" movie by $200 million. He is set to star in prestige films to be directed by Michael Mann and Ron Howard, his director in "Rush".
