The Samsung Galaxy S6 will not be out this year after the Samsung S5 mini has just been announced. The newly-released Note 4 can give an idea of what to expect with the Galaxy S6 when it comes out, possibly March 2015.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, the highlight of Samsung IFA Unpacked 2014 in Berlin, Germany, Note 4, gives some ideas for the Galaxy S6. Gotta Be Mobile sheds light on the Note 4's specs, with rumors being proven correct when the new smartphone came with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, 16MP camera equipped with Optical Image Stabilization, a speedy processor, a metal-and-plastic design, an improved S Pen stylus, and a fingerprint reader. These specifications can give an idea on how the Samsung Galaxy S6 will look like, says the article.

Gotta be Mobile guesses that the newly-released Note 4 can tell consumers what to expect from Galaxy S6 even before it's announced. First, there's the display. Note 4 has a Quad HD display, which "isn't a quantum leap forward from the Full HD displays" of other high-end smartphones. Samsung Galaxy S5, which will be S6's predecessor once it's out, has been released in April and isn't so far behind.

This "step up" on screen resolution could be featured in Galaxy S6, if it doesn't feature something better. "There's no reason to think that the Galaxy S, a device that's a bigger deal than the Galaxy Note, will retain technology that's now outdated," said the article.

Christian Post also shares that it's possible Samsung will go straight to a 4k resolution for the Galaxy S6, which would likely require a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

Note 4 came with a plastic back and a metal band, "not faux metal," Gotta be Mobile points out. Another upcoming mid-range smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy Alpha, which PC Advisor called the "metal version" of the Galaxy S5, also features a plastic design with a metal edge. These changes could pave the way for a not-so-plastic body for the Galaxy S6.

The Galaxy S5 mini has also been announced at the IFA event, which had simultaneous shows happening in New York and Beijing, PC Advisor. This could mean that Samsung's S6 will not be coming this year. According to Christian Post, the Galaxy S6 may be released in March, as the company allegedly has a history of unveiling their flagship phones close to the date of the Mobile World Congress. The article notes that the event will be happening between March 2 and 5, 2015.
