In Season 2 of "Devious Maids," fans were showed a cliffhanger of a finale, especially when one of the integral characters of the show was shot. It has been fairly known that the show about the lives of Latina maids was almost at the chopping block when Lifetime decided to pick the show up after ABC passed, according to the Wrap. However, was it possible that "Devious Maids" is officially over since there has been no official news from Lifetime about picking it up for Season 3 yet?

Breathe Cast said, without citing sources, that show creator Marc Cherry has confirmed that Season 3 will be created. But the fans of the show are getting more uneasy as some of the actors who play lead characters in "Devious Maids" appears to be jumping ship and has secured roles outside the television drama.

It has been recently announced that Judy Reyes, who plays Zoila Diaz, has recently signed to guest star in the CW"s comic adaptation of "iZombies" as the wife of an artist suspected of murder, Entertainment Weekly reported. Rebecca Wisocky, who plays Evelyn Powell on the show, is also set to guest-star in the upcoming season of "Castle," CarterMatt reported. Air Herald said that the recent projects of the actresses might be taken by some of the "Devious Maids" lead stars, which include Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, Susan Lucci and Ana Ortiz to reconsider their initial stance of waiting for a show renewal in the next six months.

Ortiz has since expressed her hopes that the season renewal announcement will be coming up soon even despite the lack of signs on Lifetime's end. Enstarz recounted Ortiz's earlier interview, in which she revealed that she and her fellow castmates are all very hopeful that the show will be back soon.

Cherry's interview published in News.com.au had somewhat indicated one poignant reason why Lifetime is hesitating to order Season 3. The "Desperate Housewives" creator then explained why "Devious Maids" was passed on by the very company who had nonetheless aired his first show for many a season, ""Too controversial... This is southern California. And the vast majority of domestic workers in Beverly Hills and Bel Air homes are people of Latino descent. And it's not an area that's really explored on other soap operas, what it is the maids get to witness, how they change the course of their employers' lives and vice versa."
