While it is still unknown whether "Longmire" will go on for a fourth season, author Craig Johnson who penned the novels the A&E series is based from, has started his tour to promote his work, Enstars reports.

The best-selling novelist started his tour in Cody, WY, which has always been the starting point of his tours for several years.

In a news by the Cody Enterprise, a discussion was held in the Park County Public Library. The session finished with Johnson answering questions from the audience. Some of the questions came from fans of "Longmire" asking whether he knows about the status of the series' renewal.

Johnson admitted he is not aware of it and he explained that sometimes things do not play out well on TV as they do in printed form.

"It's a different art form," said Johnson.

While fans of "Longmire" did not hear any spoilers as they expect, the audience enjoyed the novelist's visit.

Meanwhile, some of the cast of the show are keeping busy while waiting for news on the series' fate.  Lou Diamond Phillips who plays Henry in the series, is currently starring in "The King and I" at the Princess Theater. The actor also appeared as a guest in the children's TV series, "The Wiggles."

Katee Sackhoff (Victoria), in the mean time, took part in a motorcycle event where proceeds will be used as fund for AIDS research. The actress also celebrated the DVD release of her movie "Oculus."

Sackhoff also accepted the popular Ice Bucket Challenge. The actress created an emotional video nominating Harold Parrineau (Lost) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Gossip Girl).

"#ProjectALS #IceBucketChallenge from @sedavison Accepted!!" she tweeted Sunday.

The Ice Bucket Challenge, which premise is to raise money and awareness for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) has been a trend in social media. To pass the challenge, an individual should publicly display a video pouring a bucket of ice water to him or herself, and donate $100. The person may also challenge a particular person to do it as well.

The New York Times reported last Sunday that the phenomenal fund raising campaign has already gathered $13.3 million dollars since July 29.

Meanwhile, the announcement of "Longmire's" renewal or cancellation will come sometime this month or September. Should the series be renewed, for a fourth season, it will likely return in June 2015.
