Season 3 of "Beauty and the Beast" will start filming on August 28. This is according to the show's director, Stuart Gillard, who broke the news via Twitter, Enstarz reported. The main plot will revolve around strengthening Cat (Kristin Kreuk) and Vincent's (Jay Ryan) relationship, which could affect JT and Tess in the process.

Gillard, who directed the season 2 finale entitled Déjà vu, said that he would be working on season three's premiere episode. The director also tweeted about loving filming in New York.

As for what fans can expect in the third season, executive producer Brad Kern shared some details via interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Kern said, "Now that we have the loyal audience, the goal is to make it more Cat-Vincent centric." He continued to say that, "Everything else will service and work around that love." Kern also shared that the show will keep building the mythology.

Kern assured fans that the Cat-Vincent romance will stick together in the upcoming season after focusing on separating the characters and building them separately. Kern also stated in The Hollywood Reporter intervew that, "The goal now is to try and focus on the Cat and Vincent love and challenge it to help them grow as a couple, as opposed to try to break them apart."

While the Cat-Vincent pairing will remain strong in season 3, Austin Basis, who plays JT, had some things to say about JT's romance with Catherine's partner, Tess, portrayed by Nina Lisandrello. In a different article, Enstarz noted the actor saying that his character's romantic life will need to find its own niche after being tied to Vincent's on the earlier seasons.

In an exclusive interview with Rickey, Basis said, "There was some sort of comfort in the fact that he was needed, and wrapped up in Vincent's drama. But then, coming into Season 2, by virtue of Vincent not being there, he started to have to-out of a survival tactic-start to find himself and deal with life by himself."

The actor also said in the Rickey interview that the JT-Tess pairing was free of Vincent. In Basis' words, "I think both JT and Tess have that same dilemma. How do they have their own thing without being swept away by what is normally the main plot of the show."
