Last July, Nintendo announced that it would be releasing three new Zelda games for the Wii U and the 3DS consoles. This announcement was made during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Also, Nintendo Japan also published the announcement on its website, which read, "This software is a Wii U Edition new legend of Zelda series. Faced with mysteries in the world of Zelda spread indefinitely without boundaries, a new link, a new nemesis."

Nintendo has yet to announce the official release date of the Zelda game. Some, however, are a bit confident that the game will be released by 2015 because of a minor detail that might have escaped from the editors of the video game preview -- a date purportedly indicating the game's release appeared at the end of the trailer video. Whether "Zelda Wii" would be unleashed before or after E3, it could not be ascertain for now, although it has been suggested in a WiiUDaily.com forum thread that the release would be in October for the Nintendo 3DS version and the Wii U version will follow shortly after.

However, Breathecast reported that Shigeru Miyamoto, the Senior Managing Director and General Manager of Integrated Research & Development Division of Nintendo Japan was suspiciously mum about the reports and replied, "Although this Annual General Meeting of Shareholders is a special opportunity, I am afraid I cannot give you any information other than what has been officially announced."

On the other hand, it did not prevent Nintendo Games designer and producer Eiji Aonuma at E3 to disclose what fans should be expected in the highly-anticipated games. He said during the trade conference that the Zelda world is going to be bigger and much more open, similar to other popular sandbox games like "Skyrim."

Referring to the upcoming Zelda game map, Aonuma said, "You can even reach those mountains in the distance if you walk far enough. You can enter any area from any direction."
