While things aren't looking particularly good for Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables" franchise- as reported here on Venture Capital Post, the third movie recently leaked online in its entirety, which will all but destroy the film at the box office. Maybe the injection of a little new blood would help a future "Expendables 4."

Well, a little more new blood than usual, given that Stallone usually adds a bumper crop of action stars to each successive "Expendables" film. The latest actor to want in is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who just had a mediocre success with "Hercules," but is poised to crush the box office with next summer's "Fast & Furious 7."

Johnson recently finished up an AMA on Reddit, where he was given a coy question about joining the cast of the next "Expendables" film. Johnson's response was equally jokey-

"If you're asking if I would consider being in the 'Expendables' franchise - then the answer is yes. BUT.. I don't want to be on their team and be buddies with them. F*ck that noise. I want to hunt every single one of them down and tell them to 'send your soul to heaven cause your ass is mine.' Rousey lives cause she'd be my characters training partner and Crews lives as well cause my character would need someone to compete at pec popping with."

Granted, the comments about Ronda Rousey and Terry Crews are probably just jokes, but Johnson wanting to join the series as a villain may be the real deal. "The Expendables" is well known for taking big action stars and placing them in the villain role- the third film's villain is Mel Gibson, while the second featured Jean-Claude Van Damme.

However, the villain isn't always the preferred role for an "Expendables" star, according to Antonio Banderas. In an interview with Collider, he revealed how he first came on the franchise.

"He said to me, 'Man, you have to come and you have to do something.'  And I said, 'Just write something for me, but I don't wanna do a villain.'  He said, 'You don't wanna do a villain?'  I said, 'I don't want to just be dead and have you guys laughing at me in number 4.  I wanna be a good guy.'  So he said, 'Let me think about that.'"

If being a villain isn't that popular a gig, than the role might be Johnson's for the taking.
