The release of  Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith back in 2005 seemed to be the end one of the most popular science fiction franchises ever to be created. But that was only until Disney worked its magic by striking a $4.05 billion deal to buy Lucas film. Come 2012, the production house announced that they will be starting production on a whole new Star Wars Trilogy.

Ever since then, rumors about the movie have been circulating. Insider sources stated that the cast and crew are starting things off in the Abu Dhabi desert where the new Tatooine is rumored to be built. Other news says that production is being set in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, England for scenes featuring Yoda's home and the Forest Moon of Endor, Hngn.com reports. Majority of the production, however, will be done in England's Pinewood Studios.

In terms of the trilogy's new plot, Cinemablend states that the Episode VII storyline will be set 30 years after the events in the Return of the Jedi, after the Battle of Endor. J.J Abrams, who initially declined to direct the film, reportedly wanted to stay faithful to George Lucas' original plot. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan who are both writing the screenplay are said to focus on the original trilogy characters, Luke, Leia, and Han.

Original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill were confirmed to take on their former roles, Lawyerherald.com says.  Fresh faces, however, will also be featured in the new run of the classic series. Among some of the confirmed names were Lupita Nyong'o, John Beyoga, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Domhall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, and Max von Sydow.

Lucas film announced that production schedule was halted for two weeks due to Harrison Ford' leg injury. Filming will supposedly be finished later in fall with Star Wars: Episode VII hitting theaters on December 18, 2015.
