"Witches of East End" starts with changes for everyone. The second season introduces a new brother, a new villain, and a new start, not all of which is entirely good. Sisters Freya and Ingrid approach their brother Frederick differently, and Wendy is worried not only for her last life, but for her sister's as well.

With the second season resuming events a couple of days after the first season's finale, everyone is seen dealing with the changes thrown their way. Fashion Style reports Freya trying a memory spell to know what happened Asgard's portal was opened. Freya is also worried about finding Killian after leaving fiancé Dash at the altar, while Killian ends up in an island and meets a new girl who could help him with his newly-discovered magic.

According to TV Line, Killian is not the only man Freya will be busy with as she starts to feel a connection with her brother, Frederick. Actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, who plays Freya, thinks Frederick is a good guy, but adds that she is not entirely sure if he's just "playing" the good guy.

Ingrid, whom actress Rachel Boston says approaches Frederick with an open heart, might feel like the odd sister out. Sisterly jealously could ensue, says TV Line. Ingrid will also be busy with something else.

The show is introducing a "mysterious sex monster" as Enstarz puts it. According to TV Line's interview with executive producer Maggie Friedman, the monster is a Mandragora, but the show's version is different, with the monster having special abilities and coming from Asgard.

As for the older sisters, last season ended with Wendy reaching her last life and with Joanna being close to death due to Argentium poisoning. Her sister's condition affects Wendy in that actress Madchen Amick says her character will be more responsible when the show returns.

"She will be a little more prepared," Amick said of Wendy in an interview as reported by TV Line.  Enstarz writes that the entire family is incredibly pained by Joanna's situation.

Amick also hints that the show will be exploring more of the witches, particularly Asgard, where they came from.
